Charles Taylor Consulting has occupied Standard House on a leasehold basis for a number of years. A major client of Charles Taylor has purchased the freehold as an investment asset, with a view to Charles Taylor resuming occupation of the building after renovation.
Artillery had been employed to look at the feasibility of extending the building at roof level, and infilling the existing light well.
This has demonstrated that Charles Taylor can achieve the required occupancy levels, and that the project is a viable investment opportunity.
Works began onsite in October 2008 and the project was completed in winter 2009. The scheme was a complete refurbishment incorporating new lifts, toilets, windows, AV, Mechanical and electrical services, internal finishes, fittings and furniture and an overall increase in gross area of over 6,500 sq ft.
Contract value finished at approximately £5.3 million. An architecturally raw, yet elegant solution to the interior architecture has been expressed.
