London firm bucks recession trend with new Abu Dhabi branch1 February 2010
Artillery Architecture and Interior Design today announced the opening of a new branch office in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The new branch is Artillery's second global office, after Melbourne, Australia, and is a client-led move expected to raise the bar for what interior design consultancies offer in the UAE.
Speaking on the occasion, David Back, Managing Director for Artillery, said that "Abu Dhabi is experiencing a boom of development and with our new branch we hope to develop new and strategic alliances and partnerships, as we have done in London and Melbourne.Abu Dhabi is a key region for us to move into due to its fantastic market potential and it is crucial that we are ideally placed to cultivate that growth as well as provide global support to our portfolio of international clients."
The new branch is located in the heart of the City at Makeen Tower and will be headed by Steven Charlton who has worked in the UAE interiors market for three years. Steven brings to the role a wealth of regional knowledge in terms of design consultancy and commercial fit-out management and has worked with clients across the UAE's corporate landscape in his previous role at Hamilton International. He is a respected member of the interior design community having sat on the Steering Committee for the 2009 INDEX interiors exhibition and written for Gulf Construction, Commercial Interior Design and APID's annual magazine.
Speaking on the occasion, Steven said "Having seen the interiors market mature in Abu Dhabi these last few years, I can't help but be excited at the potential of introducing Artillery's strong ethical and green
credentials into the region at just the right time for potential clients requiring something more from their consultants. "
Artillery Abu Dhabi will initially focus on the corporate sector, offering services such as workspace analysis, test fits, sustainable design, contractor supervision and management in addition to elegant designs which will aid their clientele in achieving a space which truly reflects the dynamic nature of their business.
